Beetles

Japanese Beetle Control

1.. Trap them.  Beetle traps are baited with a sex hormone and a floral lure.  Place traps 3 to 5 ft off the ground and 10 to 20 feet away from desirable plants.  Traps do work  and do not bring beetles into your yard from far away.

2.  Spray them.  Use Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor spray on ornamentals.  Add Spreader Sticker.  Spray during the day when they are eating.  Do not spray in the middle of a hot day.  Spray once a week.  Spray again after rain.  Systemic spray may be used on ornamentals, but not on food.  Systemics take time to be effective.

3.  Kill the grubs.  All those Beetles will lay eggs in your yard and next month you will have grubs eating your grass roots.  Apply Grub Free Zone in July or Early August.

4.  Feed the Victims.  Trees, shrubs and flowers will have been stressed and weakened by the loss of leaves after the beetles have attacked.  Feed your plants to help them regain their strength and vitality.  Ross Deep Root Feeder is most effective method.
