Seeding A New Lawn

1.  Chop Ground

Chop the ground, leaving the soil in lummps about the size of a golf ball.   The ground should not be smooth.

2.  Sow Seed

Select the seed best suited to your growing conditions.  Spread the seeds on your new lawn.

Apply Fertilome Lawn Starter Fertilizer.

3.  Rake In

Rake to cover the seed.  This will prevent birds from eating the seed and provide a deeper root system.

4.  WATER. . .WATER. . . WATER

Water lightly and frequently.  If exposed, water three times a day.  (Remember Dr. Pepper?  10 - 2 & 4).  You may mulch the area and reduce your watering to two times a day.  It is best to water in the morning, afternoon, and late afternoon.  Avoid watering at night.

5.  Mow A.S.A.P.

Mow as soon as possible.  Never allow grass to grow too tall.  Only cut 1/3 off at a time.

6.  Fertilize In A Month

Fertilize again using a slow release fertilizer with a 4 (Nitrogen)-1 (Phosphorus)-2 (Potash) ratio.  Organic fertilizer is best. . .

Overseeding An Established Lawn

1.  Aerate

Spread NGT& Seed in this order, all in one day.

2.  Fertilizer

Fertilize with New Lawn Starter or Sustane when grass starts to grow.

3.  Follow Steps 4-5-6 above.
