Guinea Pig Care

Guinea Pigs are normally shy.  They seldom bite.   Use this guide as a shopping list so you have all the essenials when you take your Guinea Pig home.

Nutrients

Food:

Guinea Pig Pellets,Fiesta Blend, Hay

Vitamins:

Avitron.  Guinea pigs can't produce their own Vitamin C.  They need supplements.

Salt:

Mineral Spool,Colored Salt Spool

Fresh Fruits & Veggies:

The best are Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Spinach Leaves, Corn-On-The Cob, Parsley, Cucumbers, Apples, Romaine Lettuce.

Popcorning:

Popcorning Is When A Cavy Jumps Up In The Air For Apparently No Reason.  It Means The Guinea Pig Is Content And Happy.

Wheeking:

This Is A Term For The Noise That A Guinea Pig Makes When He Is Excited Or Begging.

Chirping:

Chirping Is Another Form Of Communication That Is A Sign Of Contentment.  It Sounds Like A Bird And Can Occur When The Piggy Hears You Open The Refrigerator.

Purring:

Purring Is A Definite Sound Of Joy, Though It Doesn't Sound Like A Cat Purr.
