Teske's program has all the basics to get through the growing season.  If you have a grub problem you will want to add grub control or move up to the five step program.  All our programs have been designed for growing conditions here in the MidWest. 

You will benefit from adding Natural Guard Organic Soil Activator to your program.

Step #1 Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Food This will start your lawn off the right way and help prevent crabgrass from germinating.  Contains Team--a better and longer lasting weed preventer.  Water in with at least 1" of water after applying.  Do not seed when using this product.  Apply after your second mowing and when forsythia are in bloom.  20-0-3.

Step #2 Weed & Feed Apply when dandelions are growing and temps are in the mid 50's or higher.  This product contains a full feeding plus weed killer for 33 different weeds.  Water the day before application.  Sprinkle lawn directly before applying or apply in the morning when dew is on the lawn or directly after a rain while the grass is still wet.  Do not water or allow rain for 24 hrs. after application.  15-5-10.

Step #3 Milorganite Apply in September.  This is professional strength Milorganite.  This is a larger bag and a stronger formula than the home fertilizer offered at many mass retailers.  Slow release organic fertilizer.  Organics improve the soil for longer lasting results.  6-2-0

Step #4 Winterizer Apply in October through November.  The most important feeding of the year.  It will contiue to work on growing roots and building stems for strength, even under our first snow.  Lawns will green up faster in spring after Winterizer.  10-0-14.
