Rock Island Park And Recreation Director Bill Nelson is quoted as saying, "Treatment options can prevent infestation or slow its progress, but once the ash borer appears there is often a significant mortality rate for ash in the affected areas.  Treatment often is more about preventing a large number of trees from dying at once, making their removal taxing.  Prevention, once it begins, is essentially a permanent element of managing an ash tree population but no guarantee against infestation."

The Emerald Ash Borer has already killed tens of millions of Ash trees.  If you have an Ash tree you must act now or suffer the results.  If you don't know if you have an Ash tree you should find out.  Your options are. . . .

1.  Plant a replacement tree nearby.  The replacement should not be an Ash tree.  Plant it now so it will have time to grow in size when you have your dead Ash removed in a few years.

2.  Treat with Fertilome Tree & Shrub Systemic Insect Drench now.  Treatment is easy.  Just pour the solution around the trunk of the tree.  You must do this once a year, every year.  It takes time to work into the tree.  Do not wait until your tree is sick.  Treat now.
